How the MDCAT aggregate is calculated

PMDC's 2026-27 admission policy keeps the open-merit formula at MDCAT 50%, HSSC 40%, Matric 10%, and private colleges must use the same formula. Open-merit candidates also need at least 60% in HSSC.

MDCAT 2026: held on 20 September 2026 (moved from 16 August), with 180 MCQs and no negative marking, so it is out of 180. Qualifying marks are 55% for MBBS (99/180) and 50% for BDS (90/180). For 2025-26 only, PMDC allowed a one-time cut of up to 3% (52% / 47%) to fill vacant seats.

Worked example

Matric 1000/1100, FSc 950/1100 and MDCAT 144/180:

Aggregate = 83.6364%

Each extra MDCAT mark adds about 0.278%; each extra FSc mark (out of 1100) adds 0.036%.
